Force 7 was founded in 1991 to act as the Oceania publisher's representative for 'Cruise & Ferry Info' of Halmstaad, Sweden, The Royal Institute of Naval Architects, London, England and 'Asian Shipping' of Hong Kong. In addition ,between 1991 and 1996, Force 7 assisted IHI (International Heavy Industries), of Japan in sourcing marine components for its shipbuilding yards from South East Asia, contributed towards the development of the Australian government's National Cruise Shipping Strategy and represented the Australian cruise industry at Seatrade Miami, FL. In 1996 the Victorian state government commissioned Force 7 to publish the Victorian Marine Directory. The directory's format was an immediate success in both hard copy and on the internet. The Victorian Marine Directory developed into The Marine Australia Directory within a year and now holds it's position as Australia's leading resource of marine data intelligence. Other directories commissioned by both State and Federal governments since 1996 include:- Australian Food & Beverages, Building Victoria, Building New South Wales, Australian Building, Envirofresh Produce of Australia, Environmental Industries Victoria, Environmental Industries Australia, Finance Sydney, Medical Suppliers Victoria and Medical Suppliers Australia.
